AMD’s New Radeon Drivers Delivers up to 17% Better Performance for DirectX 11 Games

Available today, AMD Software Preview Driver May 2022 is ready for download, improving performance, introducing new features, and refining existing ones.

New Updates to RSR 1.1

As users continue to enjoy the benefits of Radeon™ Super Resolution across thousands of games, AMD has continued to develop and refine the product to give you more customization over your gaming experience.

When you update to our preview driver, you will see a new “sharpen effect” slider – allowing you to fine-tune the sharpness effect of RSR to your own desired settings. Have more control of how RSR works on your computer while experiencing an increase in frames across a wide range of titles.

DX11 Performance Improvements

AMD is constantly fine tuning our drivers and looking at ways to deliver more performance for our products. Through rigorous testing and development, our preview driver delivers on average, up to 10% increase in performance gains in DX 11-based games on your Radeon RX 6000 series graphics card – with some games reaching even higher than average gains such as Assassin’s Creed Odyssey – up to 28%, World of Warcraft: Shadowlands – up to 30%, and Grand Theft Auto V – up to 11%.(2) Additional games that were tested include:

  • Far Cry 5 – at 4% gains
  • Farming Simulator 22 – at 3% gains
  • Total War Saga: Troy – at 17% gains
  • Total War Hammer 3 – at 5% gains
  • Watch Dogs Legion – at 10% gains
  • The Witcher 3 – at 3% gains
  • Apex Legends – at 5% gains
  • Overwatch – at 3% gains
  • PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS – at 3% gains
  • Valorant – at 7% gains
