The Box and Packaging
The box and packaging was surprisingly lacklustre. There’s no user manual. You only get a I/O shield, a pack of SATA cables (pair), and a quick installation guide. A little disappointing here 🙁
The Gigabyte B550M DS3H Motherboard
The motherboard comes in a micro-ATX form factor, which is fairly compact and is ideal for system builders and home theatre enthusiasts.
The heatsinks on the motherboard are a bit plain-looking. Just two small black chunks of Aluminum, one on the VRMs/Mofets and the other on the chipset. If you have components that support Gigabyte’s RGB fusion … then just plug them in to one of several RGB headers dotted around the motherboard.
A Closer Look
The motherboard comes with a fair amount of features including … 4 x SATA ports, 1 x PCIE 3.0 x16 slot, 1 x PCIE 3.0 x1 slots, 1 x PCIE 4.0 M.2 slot, 1 x PCIE 3.0 M.2 slots for SSDs, and 4 x DIMM slots supporting memory speeds of up to DDR4 4733 (O.C.).
And for connectivity, you have on the rear I/O panel, a PS/2 keyboard & mouse connector, 4 x USB 2.0, DVI-out, HDMI, 4 x USB 3.2 Gen1, Gigabyte 8118 Realtek gigabit LAN, and the usual array of connectors for HD audio.
