The Acer Nitro 5 Laptop is powered by AMD’s mobile Ryzen 7 6800H featuring 8-core and 16-thread CPU with a boost clock up to 4.7 GHz.
Taken from Videocardz … Professional Review received a sample of Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop equipped with AMD’s latest Zen3+ Ryzen 7 6800H processor and GeForce RTX 3060 GPU.
Specification-wise, Acer Nitro 5 is equipped with Ryzen 7 6800H 8-core and 16-thread CPU with a boost clock up to 4.7 GHz (so 300 MHz short form the fastest CPU from the series). Because this APU only supports DDR5 memory, this laptop is outfitted with a dual 8GB DDR5-4800 kit. In terms of GPU, this version has RTX 3060 with 140W TGP, which feeds the image to a 2560×1440 15.6-inch display with a 165Hz refresh rate. In other words, this is should be a good gaming laptop.
Interestingly, this laptop features USB4 Gen2 (should be up to 20 Gbps but the review says 10 Gbps) with DisplayPort 1.4 support. Moreover, there is also an HDMI 2.1 connector.
What their review does not (sadly) include is GPU performance. While the Ryzen 6000 series are still based on Zen3 architecture, they are also equipped with a new generation of RDNA2 integrated graphics. The 6800H is actually using the full 12 Compute Unit GPU, which is why this would be a perfect candidate for this test.
