Clear River Games, a video game publisher specialising in classic and retro games, in conjunction with Japanese publisher City Connection, and developers Happymeal and Pleocene, announced today that the long-awaited retro styled adventure game OMEGA 6 The Triangle Stars, has been cleared for landing, docking on Nintendo Switch and Steam beginning February 28, 2025.
An all-new futuristic adventure with authentic 16-Bit styling, OMEGA 6 The Triangle Stars is based on the OMEGA 6 Sci-Fi manga created by the legendary Takaya Imamura, former art director at Nintendo, where he served for over 30 years during the golden age of gaming, designing some of the most iconic and best-loved characters in gaming.
Designing characters for such notable franchises as F-Zero™, The Legend of Zelda™ and Star Fox™, Takaya Imamura takes the lead in story and art direction for OMEGA 6 The Triangle Stars, while composer Shinobu Amayake, who also created many a Nintendo soundtrack, returns to create a brand new sweeping score for the game.
A space-based epic awaits, when players embark on a sprawling tale filled with a cast of otherworldly characters, as they follow the story of Thunder and Kyra, our humanoid heroes, entrusted by their creator Dr. Victor Franklin to discover a new planet for the human race to call home while Earth faces a challenge for its very existence.
As expected, the 16-Bit styled artwork is a treat for the eyes, lovingly styled to match the catalogue of characters made famous by Imamura-san during the golden age of gaming. With action, adventure, humour and surprises around every turn, OMEGA 6 The Triangle Stars is an intergalactic masterpiece not to be missed! Fans of manga wishing to experience OMEGA 6 in English are also in for a treat, with Dark Horse® Comics confirmed to be publishing the story in English.
