Next-gen Update for Star Wars Squadrons will Support 4K, 120 FPS

It’s exciting times for Xbox Series X/S owners … next-gen updates for most of the games now supports 4K and 120 FPS.

Taken from Engadget … today, as EA pushed an update for Star Wars Squadrons. As previously announced, this update brings a slew of upgrades to players on next-gen systems.

On PS5, that includes just improved visual quality and lighting, while Xbox Series X/S updates include a toggle for 120 FPS output with reduced quality, as well as support for displays with variable refresh rate and resolution that now goes up to 4K.

Among the other changes in the 3.0 patch there’s new content and balancing changes, but one other key tweak is for anyone using a VR headset with a PC setup. Forward rendering is available as an option to improve performance, while players with high resolution headsets like the Valve Index can enjoy a higher res skybox, as well as adjustable resolution scaling that can make things smoother if you don’t have one of the more powerful GPUs. While some players have reported some glitches, others are already appreciating the new settings.
