Innovative Soulslike Game Deathbound Releases on Consoles and PC Today

Deathbound, the dynamic single-player party-based soulslike from Brazilian indie developer Trialforge Studio, launches today for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store. Form alliances with fallen warriors using the innovative 4-hero party system and band together to defeat appalling creatures and enemies.

Deathbound is a party-based soulslike game set in a grim world where Faith and Science collide. You cannot survive alone; instead, you must defy Death by forging bonds with fallen warriors you encounter on your journey. With a fluid 4-hero party system, you’ll switch seamlessly between characters mid-combat in order to conquer the callous land of Ziêminal. Leveraging each warrior’s unique skills and combat techniques is the key to victory.

The synergy between characters profoundly affects gameplay, influencing outcomes and status effects based on your choices. Aligning members from the Church of Death and the Cult of Life—two opposing factions—will generate conflict with significant combat effects. Conversely, pairing warriors with shared beliefs can provide powerful combat buffs, aiding you in defeating relentless enemies. Despite their differences, the fallen must come together in battle. By charging a shared sync meter, you can unleash a devastating Morphstrike that combines your party’s strengths, a crucial tactic for overcoming formidable foes.

Along with the base game available for $29.99 / €29.99, two special editions of Deathbound have launched as well. Exclusively available on PC, the Cult of Life Deluxe Edition is available for $32.99 / €32.99 and includes a copy of Deathbound, the soundtrack, an artbook, and the Legacies of Ziêminal Skins. Available on both console and PC, the Church of Death Ultimate Edition available for $34.99 / €34.99. The Ultimate Edition includes everything from the Deluxe Edition, as well as access to the upcoming Accepted By Death post-launch DLC.

Brazilian-based indie developer Trialforge Studio is a small, 20-person team working on this ambitious take on the soulslike genre. The studio, making waves in the Brazilian indie scene, aims to deliver a high-quality and refreshing soulslike experience with Deathbound at an affordable price point.
