Gimmick! 2 is Now Available on Steam and Nintendo Switch

Clear River Games, a video game publisher specialising in classic and retro games, is thrilled to announce that the long-awaited Gimmick! 2, begins bouncing onto Nintendo Switch and Steam from today!

Developed by Bitwave Games, Gimmick! 2 continues the adventures of the adorable Yokai Yumetaro, our star-throwing, horned green hero. This time, the undertaking is to rescue Ayaka, the daughter of Yumetaro’s friend from the original game, from the clutches of the trickster wizard Manto, who has kidnapped her through a mysterious portal. A sequel to SUNSOFT’s legendary NES™ game released in the sunset years of the console’s life cycle, it’s been decades since gamers last experienced the tight platforming mechanics and fiendish challenge made famous by Gimmick!

Brimming with colorful new characters, candy-soaked landscapes and an all-new spirited soundtrack by celebrated composer David Wise (Donkey Kong Country series, Battletoads, Diddy Kong Racing, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts), gamers are once again invited to embark on an unforgettable adventure utilizing a unique physics-based Star mechanic which will challenge seasoned platforming veterans, and delight novices thanks to a new easier mode for those who prefer a more relaxing adventure.

Gimmick! 2 is available today on Nintendo Switch and Steam. A release date for PlayStation® and Xbox versions of the game will follow shortly.
