CD Projekt Red Now Offering Modding Tools for ‘Cyberpunk 2077’

Come guys lets create some awesome (and hilarious if possible) mods for Cyberpunk 2077 šŸ˜€

Taken from Engadget ā€¦ Intrepid gamers havenā€™t wasted any time deploying Cyberpunk 2077Ā mods ā€” you could, for example, turnĀ Night City into a smog-covered wasteland like Blade Runner. But now CD Projekt Red isĀ offering its own toolsĀ for tweaking the game, which should make it even easier to dive into its wealth of assets. So far, the developer has launched a metadata tool, which other modding software will rely on; a small app that will list whatā€™s in the gameā€™s archives; and another tiny app for listing the contents of its game setting binaries.

If this all sounds incomprehensible to you, donā€™t worry about it. The big takeaway is that these tools could lead to even more mods down the line. CDPR says itā€™ll continually update them alongsideĀ Cyberpunk 2077ā€™sĀ patches, though Iā€™d take the developerā€™s promises with a grain of salt at this point. The first major patch for the gameĀ dropped last week, following a slew of smaller updates shortly after its release. But even though that patch was meant to address memory leaks and other issues, it ended up introducingĀ a game-breaking bugĀ of its own.

Clearly, CD Projekt Red still has plenty to fix with the game, so I wouldnā€™t expect modding support to be a huge priority moving forward.
