Our sister site Funky Kit published a review of the ASRock Radeon RX 6500 XT Phantom Gaming D Graphics Card … you can check out the full review here.
I said earlier in the review, that the Radeon RX 6500 XT wasn’t getting much love from gamers or the general public. And I now understamd why, and I could really sympathize with the gamers. I really wouldn’t recommend it to gamers who wants serious 1080 Full HD gaming, especially with only 4GB of GDDR6 ram. It’s the kind of card that’s best suited for office/home users, who wants a decrete graphics card that handle most office applications, web browsing and watching videos on YouTube.
For 3DMark Timespy and Firestrike, it produced a score of 5,481 and 13,559 respectively. We were unable to run Basemark GPU, 3DMark Port Royal or the DLSS benchmark due to the lack of ram (only 4GB) and limited ray-tracing support. And finally for Unigine’s Superposition 1080p extreme and optimized 4K, we got as score 2,708 and 3,086 respectively.
There’s no RGB illumination and it only comes with 1 x HDMI and 1 x DisplayPort connectors for monitors. This card is REALLY aimed and designed for the lower-end and budget market.
With a MSRP of USD $199 (but currently in stores, it will probably cost you around $299+ or more), I’m just lost for words. How could anyone justify the high price for a budget card? Sadly, the chip shortage saga will unfortunately continue in 2022 and I’ll be surprised to see a light at the end of the tunnel.
I’ve expressed my concerns over the past few months, and for all my future reviews will be using a low-end budget graphics card for testing. I REFUSE to buy over USD $2,500 for a enthusiast card, just to review some components. There … rant over!
Final Thoughts
The ASRock Radeon RX 6500 XT Phantom Gaming graphics card is best suited for office/home users, who wants a discrete graphics card for the occasional gaming, and also handle most office applications, web browsing and watching videos on YouTube.
You can buy the Radeon RX 6500 XT graphics card from various maufacturers for around USD $299 from Aamzon – https://amzn.to/3LIycMw
