Today, we’ll be taking an exclusive look at the super rare and highly sought-after AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G (Renoir) processor. According to AMD, the Ryzen PRO series of CPUs provide PRO technologies which includes layers of security features, seamless manageability, and reliable longevity.
This particular chip is based on AMD’s Renoir core (Zen 2), and features 8-cores/16-threads and operates on a base frequency of 3.6 GHz with a max boost speed of 4.4 GHz. It comes with 4MB of L2 cache and a total 8MB of L3 cache. It also comes with onboard Radeon graphics with 8 GPU cores running at 2100 MHz.
We wanted to see if we can build an AMD 8-core/16-thread Ryzen based system for under USD $700 … and guess what, we did it and managed buy the following components …

The AMD Ryzen 7 PRO series of processors are only available via OEM (original equipment manufacturer) for system builders and system integrators, which means you’ll need to buy a complete system if you want this chip. Sadly, you won’t be able to buy the Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G on retail via your local retailer or online shops, as AMD is pretty strict on this!
However, I did manage to wrangle my way, and got this chip along with a B550M motherboard. Well it is a semi built system sort of, right? *Wink* *Wink*
According to AMD, the Ryzen PRO series of CPUs provide PRO technologies which includes layers of security features, seamless manageability, and reliable longevity.
This CPU is often referred to as an APU (accelerated processor unit), it’s a marketing term used by AMD to describe a series of CPUs with onboard integrated graphics (GPU) on a single die.
And on the subject of graphics … the 4750G comes with onboard Radeon graphics with 8 GPU cores in total, and it’s based on their latest GCN 5th Gen architecture. It operates on a frequency of 2100MHz with a maximum UMA frame buffer (shared video ram) of up to 2GB.
The Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G is based on the Zen 2 (7nm) Renoir architecture, and is currently AMD’s highest performing APU in their catalogue. It’s also their highest core count for their APU series with 8-cores/16-threads. Some people have said it’s basically a Ryzen 7 3700X with onboard Radeon graphics.
Our sister site has already taken a look at the previous generation – AMD’s Picasso architecture, the Ryzen 5 3400G (4-cores/8-threads) and the Ryzen 3 3200G (4 cores) … now let’s see what so special about the Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G (8-cores/16-threads).
You can visit AMD’s website for more information about the Ryzen Pro … here.
AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G Processor (with Radeon Graphics)
The processor does not come with any box or retail packaging … and only comes in tray form. Our inside guy was kind enough to package it a blister pack and he bundled a standard AMD heatsink/fan along with 2 nice looking stickers. One says AMD Ryzen 7 4000 Series and the other says AMD Radeon Graphics.

Test rigs
For our tests, we used a total 3 test systems … the 1st system is comprised of a MSI B450M Mortar Titanium motherboard with a Ryzen 3 3200G, while the 2nd second system is powered by a Ryzen 5 3400G siting on an ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming ITX-TB3 motherboard. And finally, the 3rd system features the Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G along with a Gigabyte B550 M DS3H motherboard. All three systems includes a PCIE M.2 SSD and 16GB of DDR4-3200 ram in dual channel mode.
All tests were conducted at default clock speeds at a resolution of 1920×1080. High or Ultra settings enabled where possible.

BIOS
As you can see from the BIOS page, the Gigabyte B550M DS3H motherboard instantly recognizes the AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G processor with Radeon graphics. No need to update the BIOS.
The onboard Radeon graphics needs to be enabled. You can set to AUTO or Forces. Also you can set the UMA frame buffer (video memory) from the minimum of 64MB to a maximum of 2GB. For our tests, we set the UMA frame buffer to 2GB. I wished it could have given you the options for 4GB or even 8GB.

GeekBench 5
Geekbench is a cross-platform processor benchmark, with a scoring system that separates single-core and multi-core performance, and workloads that simulate real-world scenarios. The software benchmark is available for macOS, Windows, Linux, Android and iOS.
Benchmark Comparison
We want to compare the performance difference between the following systems …
- Ryzen 3 3200G (with Vega 8 plus B450) – 1st Column
- Ryzen 5 3400G (with Vega 11 plus X570) – 2nd Column
- Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G (with Radeon Graphics plus B550) – 3rd Column
The first column shows the results from the MSI B450M Mortar Titanium with Ryzen 3 3200G, while the second column shows the results from an ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming ITX-TB3 with Ryzen 5 3400G, and the final column shows the results from a Gigabyte B550M DS3H with the Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G. I’ll let the numbers do all the talking …

Load Temperatures
Full load temperatures reached a high of 71 degrees Celsius, which I think is more than acceptable, while the GPU core reached 57 degrees Celsius at full load. But wait, isn’t the GPU integrated in the CPU? … so the full load temperatures would be the identical for both GPU and CPU, right? I’ll let you figure that one out LOL!
Verdict and Conclusion
If you’re lucky enough to get hold of a Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G for under $250, then this CPU is a real gem! It performs beautifully and easily out performs all the other APUs we’ve tested in the past. This is all thanks to its 8-core/16-threads, along with 4MB of L2 cache and 8MB of L3 cache, operating on a base frequency of 3.6 GHz with a max boost speed of 4.4 GHz. It’s basically a Ryzen 7 3700X with a smaller L3 cache, but now comes with a built-in Radeon graphics that has 8 GPU cores! Right now, it’s one of the most powerful APUs you can get on the market.
What I like about building systems with APUs, is that the onboard Radeon graphics should be more than enough to get you going … it’ll handle most daily tasks such as web browsing, watching YouTube, running your office applications, and possibly the occasion gaming with standard settings. And of course, if the onboard graphics isn’t enough, there’s also the option to upgrade to a better, discrete graphics card.
During our benchmarks, it produced an impressive score of 5,649 on PCMark 10 with a Cinebench score of 2,019. For Passmark 9, we got a very good score of 5,396, while GeekBench 5 scores for single and multi-core, we got a score of 1,211 and 8,224, respectively. All-in-all, the Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G is quite a performer to say the least.
There are a couple of things that you need to be aware of … first, this processor does not support PCIE 4.0, only PCIE 3.0, and the chip is CPU locked, which means it’s not suitable for overclocking. When you buy this chip, you buy it for its native performance and the onboard Radeon graphics.
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to buy this CPU on retail. It’s only available on OEM for system builders. Remember, the Ryzen PRO series of APUs are designed for business users, who require security features, seamless manageability, and reliable longevity. However having said that, you might be able to find them on eBay with prices ranging from USD $250-350.
Final Words
The Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G is a real gem of a processor, that’s if you can find one. It performs just as good as a Ryzen 7 3700X with 8-cores/16-threads and runs at the same speed, but you also get the added bonus of the onboard Radeon graphics. It may not be suitable for everyone, but for home theatre enthusiasts and people like myself, who love building mini-ITX systems … then this processor is probably the best one you can get. Period.
