Sapphire GPRO X080 RDNA2 Crypto Mining Card Drops 40% Cheaper

Imminent war between Ukraine and Russia, inflation at its highest and planned interest rare hike … it’s all taking a toll on crypto currency prices.

Taken from Videocardz … Back in November, Sapphire revealed its plans for a GPRO X080 mining card equipped with NAVI 22 GPU and 10GB of GDDR6 memory. If it wasn’t for El Chapuzas Informatico, we would have probably not even heard about this card, because graphics card makers are reluctant to advertise their mining equipment for a good reason – gamers hate to see GPU being wasted for the crypto mining business.

We have been notified that Sapphire’s GPRO X080 which has been listed by European price aggregating website Geizhals for a little over a month, now shows a much lower price for this model. The card now has a price of 765 EUR which is a huge reduction from its peak price of 1240 EUR almost exactly one month ago. That’s a decrease of 38%.

Although there is indeed a huge price reduction, one can not say that this pricing is a lot better than it should be. Let’s remind our readers that this mining card launched with a price tag of 750 EUR (that’s according to El Chapuzas), therefore only now has it technically reached its MSRP.

Whether the inflated 1200+ EUR pricing made any sense at any point is a different story. After all, miners could have easily chosen RX 6700XT with more memory at any time (which was always cheaper than GPRO X080). At this moment, however, both cards are offered nearly identical prices.

… The GPRO X080 features Navi 22 GPU with 2304 Stream Processors. It is equipped with an unusual memory configuration for an AMD RDNA2 desktop model which is 10GB across a 160-bit interface. According to Sapphire this card offers 38 MH/s @ 165W in ETH mining by default but can be tuned to 42 MH/s at 93W
