Microsoft Game Development Kit for XBOX

Now includes AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution.

Grate news for developers … AMD’s FSR is now included in Xbox Game Development Kit as a preview.

Taken from Videocardz … Just two days ago AMD announced its FidelityFX SuperResolution upscaling technology for Windows desktop PCs. Today Jason Ronald, a director of program management at Xbox, announced that FSR will be part of the Xbox GDK which enables the technology on Windows, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One X, and Xbox One.

AMD FSR will enable game developers to adjust image quality to preserve the high framerate. This technology is not based on neural network algorithms but an upscaling tech that is already supported by a broad range of GPUs, including AMD RDNA2 graphics on Xbox Series X|S and GCN-based One series.

It is unclear when should we expect the first Xbox games to support FSR, but one would guess it is only a matter of weeks at this point. Some game developers have already expressed how easy is to implement FSR into their games’ graphics pipeline, claiming it only requires just a couple of hours.
