AMD Ryzen 7000 “Raphael” Reportedly Enters Mass Production

This is exciting news … can’t wait to these lovely new processors from AMD this coming fall.

Taken from Videocardz … According to Greymon55, who had successfully leaked AMD roadmaps before, AMD is now set to begin mass production of the next installment in the Ryzen series at earliest in April or May. This means that the product launch is now just months away, assuming that the upcoming series will follow a similar launch schedule as its predecessors.

To give some context, AMD Vermeer (Zen3 desktop) entered mass production in July 2020, only to launch in November the same year. Meanwhile, the 3D V-Cache version has been produced since November last year, and it will officially launch next month.

Given that Ryzen 7000 series feature a completely new socket design, the 4-5 months period between production and launch might be extended. However, it is probably safe to assume AMD might be ready to launch Raphael already in early fourth quarter. This would be just in time to compete with Intel 13th Gen Core “Raptor Lake”.

AMD Ryzen 7000 series is expected to feature up to 16 cores designed in 5 nm Zen4 microarchitecture. Rumors suggest that the fastest part will reach a TDP of 170W. In January, AMD was demonstrated the first Raphael chips with a sustained all-core clock of 5 GHz.

Furthermore, Zen4 CPUs will land on a new LGA socket cod named AM5.
